Gold-coated Dreams of Love

There’s a bridge they say

Over which we might skip

When we want to avoid

Responsibilities of love

There’s a hole in my soul

Which can never be filled

By the sweetest of lies

No matter how much

I crave the comfort

Of sugary spice on my tongue

There’s a rainbow out there

I follow that arc

To see where your lies

Play with gold-coated dreams

Of madness

Of love

There’s a fire in my heart

Burning for me

Deaf to the words

Dripped honey from the tongue

Of a liar

A fool
