Intervention

bolt the doors, draw the curtains

unplug everything, except the fridge

wallow in the luddite-filled silence

somehow, after disconnecting the self

wheels cease spinning, waves start humming

crashing lightly upon sun-filled shores

in the formerly anxious, swollen spaces

thoughts flutter by, dally like daffodils

releasing the burden of being me

happy being cogless in a cog-loving world
