when viewed from behind

the trees run away

 

eventually we will get nowhere

but the trees will still be running

 

across the desolate red planet

to escape its thirsty heart

 

a rumble in the distance lets us know

that we are watched from above

 

and the trees run faster

futile attempt to outrun the lightning bolt
